Pallet Rack
Direct access to individual pallets for general distribution and changing stock lines.
MCDONOUGH PALLET RACK
Selective, pushback, pallet flow, drive-in, cantilever and carton flow solve different storage problems. At King Mill Road, Westridge Parkway and the GA-155 interchange, the right mix follows pallet quantities, stock turns and the handling equipment rather than the size of the warehouse alone.
Newer 32–40 ft bulk buildings and older roughly 24 ft Henry County space need different beam elevations. Mixed Savannah import pallets need a measured load profile. Use the six systems below as comparisons, then match the rack to the actual clear height, loaded forklift reach and aisle turns.
Direct access to individual pallets for general distribution and changing stock lines.
Deep reserve lanes loaded from one aisle for repeated food, beverage and 3PL stock.
Gravity-fed lanes with separate loading and picking faces for FIFO pallet rotation.
Forklift-entry lanes for repeated pallet quantities in grocery, cooler and freezer reserve.
Open-front supports for lumber, pipe, bundles and long building materials.
Gravity-fed carton lanes for repeat e-commerce picks and separate replenishment.
Selective rack gives direct access to individual pallets. Pushback holds repeated stock in deep lanes with last-in, first-out access. Drive-in places the forklift inside a lane for larger blocks of similar stock. Pallet flow uses separate loading and picking faces for first-in, first-out movement. Choose between them with stock quantities and rotation in hand rather than a density target alone.
Henry County’s cold-storage cluster brings cooler and freezer work, but temperature does not determine the access rule. Confirm operating temperature, pallet underside and load weights along with the inventory requirement. The same building may need selective exception positions beside a denser reserve block.
Cantilever rack supports lumber, pipe and long building products with an open front. Arm spacing follows material length and bundle weight. Carton flow presents repeat case or carton picks using gravity-fed lanes, with replenishment and picking planned as separate movements. A pallet beam schedule should not be used as a substitute for either of these load-specific discussions.
For e-commerce space near Hampton’s Lower Woolsey Road or Locust Grove’s Bill Gardner Parkway, reserve pallets can feed a lower working carton area. For manufacturing and building-material stock toward Griffin, selective and cantilever zones can share a layout while keeping separate handled-load routes.
Provide the building plan, actual pallet dimensions, loaded heights, weights and truck details. We use those inputs to establish row direction, beam capacity, elevations and usable aisle turns. Receiving buffers for floor-loaded Savannah containers remain separate from permanent storage positions.
Georgia summer heat affects installation crews in non-air-conditioned buildings, and spring and summer thunderstorms influence unloading coordination. Define material staging and zone handovers before installation. If changing buildings, complete the destination storage layout before teardown at the departing site.
