MCDONOUGH PALLET RACK
Pallet Racks in Locust Grove, GA
Locust Grove warehouse racking starts with the height of the building and the reach of the lift truck, not a target pallet count.
The Locust Grove warehouse setting
The I-75 cluster at Bill Gardner Parkway, Exit 212, and the Bethlehem Road interchange includes bulk and cross-dock space suited to large e-commerce and retail distribution operations. McDonough Pallet Rack plans new rack around the receiving pattern, pallet mix and working height of each operation.
The Cubes at Locust Grove occupies a 322-acre master-planned site on Price Road with I-75 frontage. Gardner Logistics Park on Highway 42 adds another distinct warehouse setting. Those names identify the area we serve; they are not claims of work completed there.
High-bay pallet positions, with reachable beam levels
A 40 ft building does not automatically support a 40 ft rack layout. Most Cubes buildings have a 40 ft minimum clear height, while Locust Grove Logistics Center on Highway 42 South is 36 ft clear. Stonemont Park 75 South on Pine Grove Road includes 32, 36 and 40 ft space. We work from the actual usable height, the tallest loaded pallet and the forklift specification before setting beam elevations.
Selective rack gives a retail DC access to individual stock lines without emptying a lane. A very-narrow-aisle arrangement can add storage rows, but it changes the truck and turning requirements. The proposed aisle needs to accommodate the loaded pallet, not just an unloaded truck. Put the attachment model and load chart alongside the building drawing so the upper positions remain usable under real operating loads.
Receiving along the Bethlehem Road freight corridor
Norfolk Southern runs along the east side of the I-75 and Bethlehem Road warehouse corridor; the NS Logistics South site is bounded by the highway, Bethlehem Road and the rail line. That freight setting makes the path from inbound doors to reserve storage worth drawing separately from outbound replenishment. A straight rack row can still be a poor fit if receiving pallets have to cross a busy pick route.
Park marketing places Locust Grove roughly 215 miles from the Port of Savannah and about 32 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson. Container-fed retail inventory can arrive with different footprints and load heights. Record the widest pallet, any carton overhang and the heaviest load before selecting beam spans. Leave a defined receiving buffer for sorting those loads rather than treating every open aisle as temporary storage.
Pallet flow for repeated picks, selective for variety
Pallet flow belongs where the same stock moves through a lane often enough to justify separate loading and picking faces. For an e-commerce or retail building, compare reserve replenishment with daily demand before choosing lane depth. Mixed pallets and cartons need their own trials because underside construction and weight affect travel. The load-side aisle should remain available when pick-side work is busiest.
A high-bay selective area and a shorter flow area can share a building without sharing every beam elevation. Keeping reserve loads away from hand-pick replenishment helps define the working zones. At consultation, identify the stock that needs first-in, first-out rotation and the stock that needs direct access. Those two lists are a better starting point than choosing one rack style for the entire warehouse.
A phased install for a large Locust Grove footprint
Large bulk fit-outs require a zone-by-zone installation drawing, a material staging plan and a handover sequence. Georgia summer heat matters for crew work and staging in non-air-conditioned warehouses; spring and summer thunderstorms also affect unloading coordination. We agree which doors receive rack material, which travel lanes stay open and where completed rows can be released without interrupting the next installation zone.
If the operation is changing buildings, the new Locust Grove layout should be settled before rack teardown starts elsewhere. Label row groups, match component quantities to the new drawing and identify where new material is needed. Share an annotated plan, pallet dimensions, load weights and the forklift reach specification to begin a warehouse consultation. McDonough Pallet Rack serves Locust Grove from McDonough, about eight miles away.
